What the Extension Is

Messages Companion is a browser extension that copies your own Google Messages for Web conversations to the SMS Backup & Restore app on your phone, so conversations Google no longer exposes on the device (such as end-to-end encrypted RCS chats) can be backed up and exported too.

How You Use It

The extension only works with a Google Messages for Web session you are already signed into, and only sends messages to a phone you paired yourself. You agree to use it only with your own accounts and devices.

Google Messages Is a Third-Party Service

The extension reads what Google Messages for Web displays. Google may change that site at any time, which can interrupt syncing until the extension is updated. The extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

As-Is

The extension is provided as-is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep it working, but we can't promise every conversation or attachment will transfer on every browser or setup.
